This is not only one of our most popular-sized Airstreams, it’s one of the most rare ones we’ve restored. It’s a 19-foot, early ’60s Globetrotter that’s perfect as a mobile office, guest room or both. Because it’s still in the midst of a major restoration there are limited photos here, but we’re happy to provide you with the latest updates — just ask.
This nearly 50-year-old Airstream is going to be no worries for its new owner because it has completely new plumbing supply and drain systems, new lights and electrical appliances, new flooring, new paint, new cabinets, new fabrics, plus the exterior has been completely polished and upgraded.
When it is complete — around August 15 — it will be a fully-independent with 12 or 110v, or propane-powered systems, plus fresh and waste water storage tanks. Inside there’s a new toilet, shower/tub, bath and 1″ glass tiles that will be installed on the toilet platform in the bathroom. If you act fast, you can still choose your favorite colors.
The kitchen features a pull out sink faucet, the original Tappan gas stove/oven, and brand spanking new 3-way powered (12/110v or propane) refrigerator.
There are new Lutron switch and outlet plates, new interior lighting on the walls, and under-counter low voltage lights, as well. On the windows there are new screens, new glass, and new pull-down simple modern window shades. The new owner can even choose their own goucho sofa/bed fabrics.
For complete comfort year-round, there’s an ice cold air conditioner and toasty warm propane heater.
The exterior is being polished to a mirror shine — it’s not done but it’s already BEAUTIFUL! Included are propane cylinders, new exterior lighting, and name badges designed as replicas to match the original.
The flooring is our favorite strand bamboo. This is a very dense, durable and renewable product, so it’s not only perfect for heavy duty use it’s earth-friendly, too.
A brand new battery and an automatic hitch jack makes for easy hookups.
