Peace on Earth
Are you looking for some peace this season? Christmas carols serenade us about peace on earth, but where is it? Tragedies bombard our eyes and ears, yet the whispering ring of solace returns with December’s wind.
Amidst the chaos, Hofmann Architecture’s crew remains focused on handcrafting mobile spaces that allows their clients to discover a rich bounty of peaceful moments — true Peace on Earth.
The reality of hate and violence come too close to home. It’s difficult to know what to say to people who have lost a loved one to war, hatred and violence.
It’s ironic that Henry W. Longfellow wrote the lyrics of I heard the Bells on Christmas Day during the raging arnage of the American Civil War. With heartfelt pangs, he wrote, “For hate is strong and mocks the song, of peace on earth, good will to men.”
How on earth could Longfellow have written these inspiring words at such a time? How do we write these words into our hearts and into the lives of friends, family and strangers, today?
What if we refused to embrace prejudice and held tightly to hope? Who knows? Maybe peace will again return.
Peace will come when we listen with our hearts, and not judge with our eyes and fears. Peace on earth begins with you and me.
