Little Vintage Trailer

Happiness on Wheels

A vintage trailer promoter we’ve come to admire is Kelle Arvay, who was bitten by the vintage trailer bug about the same time we were, in 2010. In her own words, she has “been hooked ever since.”

As her website tag line says it, it’s all about creating Happiness on Wheels. She clearly has a love for “these little trailers that bring so much happiness into our lives.”

The Little Vintage Trailer website brings together those who love vintage trailers of all kinds, as well as those who share nifty tips on camping, glamping, how to’s, events, decorating, campfire recipes, trailers for sale, reviews, shopping, and more.

Kelle’s personable and informative website, self-describes her as one who “enjoys creating mixed media paintings, hunting for vintage and antique treasures and of course spending as much time humanly possible camping!”

So as not to discriminate against the long ones, she welcomes 40-footers as well as the 10-footer trailer.

“My hope is that you will find inspiration throughout this site whether you currently have a trailer, are searching for the perfect one or just discovering the wonderful world of vintage trailers. May it help you to find your own happiness on wheels.”

It was a tiny nucleus of adventurers who ignited the mobile caravan phenomena 80 years ago when recreational vehicles were invented in America. One of the key drivers behind the effort was Wally Byam, founder of Airstream. Although Airstream continues to be one of the most popular trailers with it’s rounded aluminum body, it’s not the only trailer who’s influence spans the globe.

Today, the community of trailer advocates continues to be a relatively small group of freedom-seekers who preach adventurous living not so much because as a business, but for it’s shared holy passion.
