Rock. Metal. Skate. Smile.
Some people just have that “IT” factor. Max is one of those guys who’s got it. We loved him the minute we met him. His smile is infectious and lights up the spaces and faces around him.
This guy is one of our subs, which means we have to share his talents with a bunch of other clients — from painting, to household repair, to pounding metal. Fortunately for us, at least a couple days a week we find him lying on a creeper, with bare tattooed legs sticking out, underneath one of our many renovations. He’s a pro at repairing anything metal, whether it’s an aluminum skin that needs re-riveting, a chassis re-welded, or a door lock replaced.
He’s a multi-talented rocker who cranks out amazing music on a guitar or drum set with equal aplomb. He’s also a sick ripper. In the evenings you’ll find him grindin’ at shoreline skate park, fakin’ fat tricks on the toe rails and lippin’ out in the quarter pipes with kids half his age. Although he’s not a Bible thumper, he’s not shy about letting his Source of inner strength be known that it comes from “the Spirit.” Day-in and day-out his “sermon” is expressed in a huge, toothy smile.
Rock on, bro.

HofArc: So, tell us a little about Max.
Max: I’m an easy-going dude, who likes to smile.
HofArc: How did you get hooked up with HofArc?
Max: I needed some money so I answered an ad on CraigsList and here we are.
HofArc: What do you do for HofArc?
Max: I rock most of the metal fabrication and repairs, along with whatever else needs lovin’. I also try to keep up morale amongst my fellow gents. Helpin’ out where I can.
HofArc: What’s it been like working for HofArc?
Max: It can be a bit foggy or even dusty in the mornings, hot during the mid-day, but sweet all the time. The owners are great people.
HofArc: What do you do for fun and recreation?
Max: I like to rock, skate, rock, chill, rock, skate, go to the beach. Talk to the homeless, get’em a burger. Rock. Pray.
HofArc: What else do you like about living in Santa Barbara?
Max: Santa Barbara is the best place I’ve ever lived. Even if the day is busted, you can get a beer, go to the beach and just get stoked. This place is so amazing. You can meet people from all over the world – now that’s a trip.
HofArc: What are some of your aspirations?
Max: I hope to shed this old skin and walk in the Spirit. I also hope to one day write and produce a feature film that gets released in theaters. To one day rock a crowd of thousands before I go way beyond the blue.
HofArc: Any other thoughts?
Max: Yeah, buy an Airstream!
