Keeping the process simple, seamless and sustainable

Brothers of Industry (BOI) was founded with the goal of manufacturing one-off furniture and lighting fixtures for designers and architects, such as HofArc. “It’s a privilege to have such a cool source for our raw materials,” said HofArc Founder Matthew Hofmann. “I place a high value on the fact that BOI’s products are 100% local – handcrafted a couple miles down the 101 in beautiful Carpenteria – and their design priorities and sustainable mindset align perfectly with ours.”

Being situated between Los Angeles and San Francisco has allowed them to hire some of the most talented craftsmen in their field. The diversity of their team allows them to approach each project with a unique perspective and design.

BOI manufactures everything from floor to ceiling. They specialize in offering comprehensive custom solutions for office, retail and restaurant interiors. Over the years they have worked tirelessly on making their capabilities and processes as robust and seamless as possible. Part of what makes their product unique and sets their process apart from our over seas competitors is their use of everything from reclaimed to FSC certified wood.

Of utmost importance is their use of earth-responsible products such as recycled steel, green guard adhesives, water borne finishes, and recycled packaging materials. “We have used the Brother’s reclaimed wood on several projects, such as Elizabeth,” added Matthew. “Quality products that are produced with a respect for the planet is exactly the type of company we aim to be, and the type of people we want to support.”
