Cali Bamboo’s positive impact

Many of HofArc’s flooring and countertops are bamboo. Most of our bamboo is sourced from a relatively young company in the construction materials industry — Cali Bamboo of San Diego. Founded in 2004 with a single delivery van and a garage full of bamboo fencing, Cali Bamboo has grown as fast as the bamboo we supply.

Cali Bamboo’s mission is to promote the use of bamboo as a new material for everyday products. By providing alternative products made from renewable resources they are making a real difference in the future of our planet.

CaliSurfersThe inspiration for Cali Bamboo originated during a year-long surf trip almost a decade ago. While on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, Jeff Goldberg and Tanner Haigwood, two Maryland college friends, came up with the idea of a company designed to make a difference in the future of our planet.

Bamboo proved to be the ideal product to make this vision a reality. The extremely durable woody grass is the fastest growing plant on Earth and can regenerate in a fraction of the time it takes traditional lumber to mature. This makes bamboo a green alternative to less sustainable wood products.

CaliJeffAdding new products like flooring, plywood, paneling and composite decking, Cali Bamboo has met the market’s growing demand for high quality green building materials. As a testament to this growth, 2011 marked Cali Bamboo’s third consecutive year as an Inc 500/5000 fastest-growing company and a local fastest-growing company according to the San Diego Business Journal.

CaliSurferCali Bamboo continues to innovate and expand both the materials and applications for green building. By devoting resources and research to constant product development, the company is able to guarantee quality materials.

Cali Bamboo strives to set the standard for sustainable businesses everywhere and promote bamboo and recycled materials as a means to improve the use of the limited resources on our planet.
