1972 Tradewind Update

The HofArc team is currently restoring a 1972 - 25’ Tradewind for a customer who will be using it as a guesthouse on their property. After receiving the customer’s trailer the entire interior was demo’d and a new floor plan was designed and new appliances installed with fresh finishes. The ancient, heavy and inefficient refrigerator has been removed and is being resold for reuse by another owner. This next photo will give you a taste of the “after” followed by some of the before photos. It’s pretty fun to see where we start out on these silver sweethearts and the incredible transformation that takes place. It still sends tingles up my spine to see it come together.

Here’s an updated 3D model of the completed trailer viewed from front to back with finished counter tops, dining table, sink, stove, refrig, media center and selected sofa/bed fabrics.

Looking to the rear of the original trailer, through the bedroom and into the bathroom as it was, with the faded wallpaper and bedroom drawers (right). All have been removed and repositioned into a sensible design that works more efficiently.

The old heavy and inefficient furnace is removed.

The bathroom lavatory, sink and shower are taken down to the bare essentials. Old piping has been replaced and the old (blue) power converter has been reused and repositioned allowing the shower to be significantly enlarged.

The redesigned bathroom is home to the reused water heater and new plumbing is re-routed to supply instant hot water to the kitchen sink.

Refrigerator/media center/pantry and overhead tambour cabinetry, and sofa/bed are all framed up and ready for finish work.

The kitchen counter and cabinets are also framed, with low-voltage halogen lights installed, and interior walls stripped, cleaned, primed, and ready for a second coat of paint.

The new bathroom curved counter top with stainless steel oval sink, and dividing wall, is framed with a 2-gallon see-through fish tank to be installed as a final touch.
