HA: What’s your role with the company?

MD: As part of the design team, I help manage all of our custom projects and business to business designs. My day to day can consist of spatial planning, researching new products, communicating with clients and builders, and maintaining budgets and timelines.

HA: What’s your favorite part of each work day?

MD: I love how diverse my days in the office are. Working for a tight knit company allows a lot of freedom of expression and gives us all the opportunity to explore multiple fields within the business. We are all constantly learning and growing as individuals and as a whole, it’s amazing to see how much progress our team can make within a couples months.

HA: What gives your life meaning?

MD: Seeing change and purpose derived from my actions will always make me feel like my life has meaning. One of the great parts of being a designer is being able to be a small part of someone’s life as they are going through a transition. It’s great to be able to help people express themselves and to live a more functional life. Especially in the case of Hofmann Architecture and Living Vehicle, we are constantly helping clients define a new purpose and doing our part to try to produce greater change by improving the housing market and the way we use natural resources.

Words to live by: The only way to do great work is to love what you do.
